22 films, 18 pays. Voici les courts-métrages sélectionnés au prochain Festival de Berlin (15-25 février 2018). On y repère les nouveaux courts de Arash Nassiri (Tehran-Geles), Réka Bucsi (Love, Symphony no. 42) et Vergine Keaton (Marzevan, Je criais contre la vie, ou pour elle). Ils concourent aux Ours d’Or et d’Argent, au Prix Audi et à une nomination pour les European Film Awards. En parallèle à la compétition, la section Berlinale Shorts présentera pendant le festival un programme spécial 1968 – Red Flags for Everyone, en lien avec l’année 1968.

Cet été, Format Court présentera pour la première fois une carte blanche au festival SINFF (Savonlinna International Nature Film Festival), ayant lieu du 18 au 20 août prochain, à Savonlinna, dans l’est de la Finlande.

D’ici quelques jours, Format Court, votre magazine en ligne dédié au court métrage, fêtera ses 8 ans d’existence ! Champagne !

Pour la première fois, nous remettrons un prix Format Court à l’occasion de la 27e édition du Festival européen du Film Court de Brest. Depuis la création du site, en 2009, nous observons attentivement les oeuvres fortes et originales dénichées dans tous les coins de l’Europe par ce festival éclectique, ayant véritablement sa place dans le monde du court.

Le Festival Silhouette fête sa première décennie du 27 août au 4 septembre 2011. Les inscriptions sont ouvertes jusqu’au 22 mai.

Le 40ème festival de Rotterdam a lieu bientôt, du 26 janvier au 6 février, et les courts métrages en lice pour les Tiger Awards est connue. Trois prix seront remis par le jury composé de Tan Fiona, (Pays-Bas), Anocha Suwichakornpong (Thaïlande) et Thom Andersen (USA), le 31 janvier.

In his third year film « Margot » (Young Jury Award at Annecy), Gerlando Infuso, a student in animation at La Cambre, developed a plot centred around a character torn between madness and coldness. One year down the line, a new idea has sprouted – a circus artist faced with rejection and age. With « Milovan Circus », Gerlando Infuso revisits the theme of solitude, the poesy of the grim, and stop-motion animation – elements that had contributed to the success of his previous short.

Découvrez le programme sur l’avant-garde qui sera projeté pendant le festival du film de New York du 30 septembre au 3 octobre. Les films présentés sont majoritairement américains et récents mais on aura aussi l’occasion d’y découvrir des rushs inédits de Pierre Clémenti, les derniers films de Jean-Marie Straub et un focus sur le travail de l’Allemande Helga Fanderl et de l’Anglais Jeff Keen.
